The special foods produced by us for our joint venture partner include foods for special medical purposes (FSMP) which are specifically adapted to special needs and specifications and comply with the applicable EU, Codex Alimentarius or specific country requirements and regulations. Special foods are used to supplement or replace a patient’s diet. They are divided into three categories:
FSMP I.
Dietary complete foods with a standard nutrient formulation which, when used according to the manufacturer’s instructions, are used as the sole source of nutrition for appropriate patients.
FSMP II.
Dietary complete foods with a specific adapted nutrient formulation – for patients with certain complaints, diseases or disorders. When used according to the manufacturer’s instructions, they serve as the sole source of nutrition for patients.
FSMP III.
Dietary incomplete foods with a standard formulation or a specifically adapted nutrient formulation – for patients with certain complaints, diseases, or disorders. They are not suitable for use as the patient’s sole source of nutrition.
